Manufacture and Care

All the leather products of Kalghi get handcrafted by the craftsmen who have spent their lives perfecting this art to create unique, excellent and practical products. Every Kalghi item is beautifully crafted with an exceptional eye for detail and holds its unique personality.

Due to the natural variation and patterns of leather, no two KALGHI bags are the same. As part of our unique style, we hope you will embrace these differences in the context of the bags charm. We have tried to show this natural variation in our product images by limiting the use of artificial lighting and providing a high- resolution images on our website. We hope that this allows you to make more of an informed choice when browsing our collection.

Almost 80% of the manufacturing such as the bleeding and tanning is done by hand. To ensure consistency of quality the machine does the stitching work.

We only use vegetable tanning on our leather and all our products are free from Chrome VI.

All products made from any leather cannot be made 100% water resistant due to its pores nature. Our bags are naturally water resistant, which means a light shower of rain will not be able to penetrate the lining. There are few ways available by which you can add an enhanced level of water resistance to your bag by using beeswax cream or spray. If your bag gets wet in the rain then let it dry naturally and do not use a heat source for a quick drying as it will dry out the leather.

 A unique feature of leather is that as it ages it achieves its vintage look. We would advise wiping your KALGHI with a dry cloth regularly to remove any dust which may accumulate due to everyday use over the surface of leather and reduce its natural shine.
